Rear Step for Iveco Daily
The rear step on the Iveco Daily makes it easier to get in and out of the load area. Depending on the body configuration, it can be a simple fixed step, a fold-down step or a hydraulic tail lift.
Step Types
Fixed Step (Bumper Step)
The rear bumper on the Daily panel van incorporates a step to make access to the load area easier. It wears with use and knocks. The anti-slip covering wears out and should be replaced for safety.
Fold-Down Step
An aluminium or steel platform that folds down to create a larger standing surface. Ideal if you load and unload with a hand truck. It folds away under the load floor when not in use.
Hydraulic Tail Lift
The professional solution for loading and unloading pallets and heavy goods. It lifts the load from road level to the floor of the van/body. Capacities from 500 to 1.500 kg.
| Tail Lift Type | Capacity | Approximate cost | Ideal for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Retractable | 500-750 kg | 2.000-4.000€ | Couriers, light deliveries |
| Column Lift | 750-1.500 kg | 3.000-6.000€ | Heavy pallets, industry |

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a hydraulic tail lift for an Iveco Daily cost?
From 2.000€ for a 500 kg retractable tail lift to 6.000€ for a 1.500 kg column tail lift. For fitting, add 500-1.000€. A hydraulic system and electrical connection are also required.
Can a hydraulic tail lift be fitted to the Daily 35?
Yes, but keep an eye on the remaining payload: the tail lift itself weighs 150-300 kg, which is deducted from the payload. On a Daily 35S with a 1.400 kg payload, the 200 kg tail lift leaves 1.200 kg of payload for goods.
Is the folding step fitted as standard?
It depends on the body type. Panel vans have the step bumper as standard. The folding step and hydraulic tail lift are optional/aftermarket. Many used Dailys already have a tail lift fitted by the first owner.
