Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which generation my Daily is?
Check the date of first registration on your vehicle registration document (V5C logbook). The design is different for each generation: the Daily III (1999-2006) has round headlamps, the IV (2006-2011) has square headlamps with a grille, and the VI (2014+) has a completely new front end with a chrome grille. You can also check the chassis number (VIN): where to find the VIN →
Which Daily generation is the most reliable?
The Daily III (1999-2006) with the 2.8 TDI engine is considered the most reliable of all: simple mechanicals, no DPF, no AdBlue, minimal electronics. The IV (2006-2011) with the 3.0 HPI is the best compromise between reliability and modern comfort.
Are parts interchangeable between generations?
Generally not. Each generation has specific parts for the bodywork, interior and many mechanical components. Some engine parts (filters, gaskets) may be compatible between consecutive generations (e.g. the IV and V share a lot), but you should always check the OE number.
