Iveco Daily Suspension — Diagram
L'The Iveco Daily uses a mixed suspension system: coil springs or a torsion bar at the front, and leaf springs at the rear. This layout is ideal for commercial vehicles: the leaf springs carry heavy loads without deforming, while the front springs ensure ride comfort.
Front
- Daily II-III: torsion bar
- Daily IV+: coil springs with telescopic shock absorbers
- Anti-Roll Bar
Rear
- Parabolic Leaf Springs (Standard)
- Reinforced Leaf Springs (for Heavy Loads)
- Air Suspension (Optional on Daily VI-VII)
- Telescopic Shock Absorbers
Leaf Spring Reinforcement Kit
If your Daily constantly works fully laden and the rear suspension compresses too much (the van sits low at the back, the tyres rub), you need a reinforcement kit:
- Additional spring leaf: added to the existing leaf spring. Economical (100-200€), it increases stiffness by 20-30%.
- Auxiliary air spring kit: air bags you can inflate as needed. Adjustable, they maintain ride comfort. (300-600€ per kit)
- Complete heavy-duty leaf springs: replace the originals with thicker versions. Maximum reinforcement. (200-500€ per side)

When to Replace the Suspension
- Shock absorbers: every 60.000-100.000 km → shock absorber guide →
- Front springs: if broken or sagging (the vehicle sits lower on one side)
- Leaf springs: if a leaf breaks (metallic noise, vehicle leaning)
- Bushes and silent blocks: every 80.000-120.000 km (noises over potholes)

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to reinforce the Daily's suspension?
Additional spring leaf: 100-200€/side + 100€ labour. Air spring kit: 300-600€ + 150€ fitting. Heavy-duty leaf springs: 200-500€/side + 200€ labour. The air spring kit is the best compromise between comfort and reinforcement.
Is air suspension fitted as standard?
Only on some versions of the Daily VI and VII, as a factory option. For earlier models, you can fit aftermarket auxiliary air spring kits that work alongside the leaf springs.
